Nature Storytelling Workshop *not a longhouse event*

  • Tukwila Community Center 12424 42nd Avenue South Seattle, WA, 98168 United States (map)

NATURE STORYTELLING WORKSHOPS

Join guest artists by the river for interactive workshops that examine some of the many ways that nature shows up in writing and storytelling. Whether you’re a songwriter, poet, storyteller, reader, or just plain word nerd, these sessions will inspire you and give you tools to think about nature and weave it into your writing.

Participants ages 12 and up of all abilities and levels of experience are welcome!
(the 12+ age requirement is not a hard and fast rule. Feel free to bring your child if you feel that they can meaningfully engage with the content)

Sunday, August 11, 4-6 pm
ECHO: KATHLEEN FLENNIKEN
Tukwila Community Center (12424 42nd Ave S)
Flenniken, the 2012 Washington Poet Laureate and author of Plume about the Columbia River and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, will focus on the intersection of poetry, science, and documentary, and our relationship with damaged natural places.
