Annual Duwamish Tribe Gala Dinner & Art Auction Honoring Seattle's First People

Duwamish Tribal Leadership on behalf of the Duwamish Tribal Council and DTS Board wish to express sincere gratitude to all of you who sponsored, donated and attended the 2010 Duwamish Tribe Gala on June 5, 2010.  The event raised $25,000 for operating before expenses and a great time was had by all. 

A special thanks to Louise Jones-Brown, Committee Chair and the Gala Committee Members:  Jack and Dana Kvarnstrom, Cindy Williams, Cecile Hansen, Tom Speer, Kathie Zetterberg, Linda Dombrowski, Jolene Williams and last but not least our many volunteers and friends from the community.

Gallery Exhibit & Sales

Sla'Da Master Duwamish Weaver and Basket Maker. A special collection of the works of Mary Lou Slaughter, Duwamish descent of Chief Seattle and Princess Angeline—featuring cedar bark hats & clothing, and a multitude of beautiful baskets. Examples of her artistry have been displayed at the Peabody Museum and Ethnology at Harvard.

June 4th,

Duwamish Extended Family Reunions—The Duwamish Tribe is making the Longhouse
View Larger Map ... available to its members this year for extended family reunions at no cost. Families are responsible for invitations, set-up and clean-up, food and supplies. The Tribal Enrollment Officer will be available to update memberships. To volunteer to coordinate a family reunion, call 206.431.1582. Family reunions will be listed on the tribal website. Subject to availability --weekdays or Sundays only, no Saturdays.
