DUWAMISH LONGHOUSE CALENDAR

Gallery Exhibit & Sales

Sla’Da Master Duwamish Weaver and Basket Maker. A special collection of the works of Mary Lou Slaughter, Duwamish descent of Chief Seattle and Princess Angeline—featuring cedar bark hats & clothing, and a multitude of beautiful baskets. Examples of her artistry have been displayed at the Peabody Museum and Ethnology at Harvard. Free admission Mon-Sat 10-5.

Frybread for Justice—Saturday, September 18th, Noon-4 PM
Proceeds benefit the Duwamish Legal Fund.  Frybread--$3.

Canoe Journey—Friday, October 1st, 7-8:30 PM
Get on board with Mike ‘didahalqid’ Evans, captain of the Blue Herron Canoe, as he shares the story of the resurgence of the North West Native Canoe Culture. $5 children/students, $10 adults. Come early 5-7 PM for frybread-$3.

Frybread for Justice—Saturday, October 16th, 11 AM-4 PM
Proceeds benefit the Duwamish Legal Fund. Frybread--$3.  

Northwest Ghost Stories—tentative date October 15 or 16th, evening
Entertaining local history event showcasing 3 authors. Mercedes Yaegar, Market Ghost Stories and owner of [Pike Street] Market Ghost Tours. Joe Teeples, Pacific Northwest Haunts. Gregg Olsen, Starvation Heights: A True Story of Murder and Malice in the Woods of the Pacific Northwest. $5 children/students, $15 adults—proceeds benefit the Duwamish Longhouse.  

Duwamish Halloween Party—Saturday, October 30th, 6-8 PM
Children of all ages. Family friendly event. Refreshments. $5 donation welcome
 

Duwamish Stories—Friday, November 5th, 7-8:30 PM
Mike ‘didahalqid’ Evans shares traditional native stories associated with Duwamish locations. $5 children/students, $10 adults. Come early 5-7 PM for frybread-$3.

NATIVE HOLIDAY GIFT FAIR—Nov. 26 & 27th, 10 AM -5 PM
Free admission for shoppers. $75 for vendor table. $25 for vendor table for enrolled Duwamish members. Limited to 21 vendors, register now! Bake sale goods welcome.
